Curd rice is also called yogurt rice. This dish is originating from India. In the state of Tamilnadu, it is called thayir sadam. It is considered a comfort food by many. This dish is simple, yet extremely tasty, food.

Ingredients
- Raw rice – 1 cup (I used Sona Masoori rice)
- Water – 2 cup
- sesame oil – 1 and 1/2 tablespoon
- whole red chili – 3
- Mustard – 1 teaspoon
- urad dal – 1 teaspoon
- curry leaves -1 sprig
- coriander leaves – 1 sprig
- Jeera – 1 teaspoon
- curd – 2 cups ( as needed)
- Salt -1 and 1/2 teaspoon (as needed)
Preparation method
- Wash the raw rice. Add 2 cups of water to the rice and cook it in a pressure cooker up to 3 whistles.
- After it is cooked, spread the rice in a separate bowl to cool down.
- Add 2 cups of thick curd to the rice and salt as needed.
- Take a pan and pour sesame oil. Then sauté mustard, urad dal, Jeera, after it splutters, red chili, curry leaves.
- Add this seasoning into the curd rice.
- Garnish it with grapes on top of the curd rice.
- Serve it with thuvaiyal or pickles.
