Garlic Chutney

Garlic is highly nutritious with very few calories. It contains antioxidants, easy to include in your diet and tastes absolutely delicious. Garlic Chutney goes good with Idly or Dosa.

Total Preparation time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  1. Garlic – 15 flakes
  2. Whole Red Chili – 8
  3. Tamarind – small piece
  4. Salt – 1tsp (as needed)
  5. Shredded Coconut – 1/4 cup

Sauté

  1. Mustard – 1/2teaspoon
  2. Urad dal -1/2 teaspoon
  3. curry leaves – few

Preparation method

  1. Roast whole red chili with salt using cooking oil in a Pan. Keep it aside in a plate.
  2. Peel the garlic skin and roast it in the pan, till it turns a golden color. Now, add shredded coconut and stir it for a minute in low flame.
  3. Add the tamarind and turn off the flame, let it cool for a few minutes.
  4. In a blender, grind all of the ingredients roasted, add a little amount of water, and turn it into a smooth paste.
  5. Then Pour oil in another pan. Sauté mustard, urad dal, after it splutters, adds curry leaves. pour in top of garlic chutney bowl.
