Onion Tomato chutney is a side dish for dosa and idly.
Total Preparation time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Onion – 1 Medium size
- Tomato – 2 big size
- whole red chili – 7
- coriander leaves – 2 sprig
- Salt – 1 teaspoon as needed
Sauté
- Mustard – 1/2teaspoon
- Urad dal – 1/2 teaspoon
- Curry leaves – 1 spri
Preparation method
- Wash onion and tomato and chop them into small pieces.
- Medium heat a pan. Pour oil to the pan, add red chili, salt, and wait till it changes color (don’t let red chili turn black it will ruin the taste of the chutney). Add onion stir it until it cooks, then add tomatoes, and coriander leaves.
- Once it cools down. Grind them in the mixie/blender to a fine paste.
- Heat another pan on medium heat and pour oil, add mustard, urad dal, and curry leaves. Garnish this on top of the chutney.
