Toor dal contains a good amount of fiber and also rich in folic acid. It goes well with white rice and more nutritious for growing kids.

Ingredients
- Toor dal – 1/2 cup
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
- Red chili powder – 1 teaspoon
- Garlic – 2
- whole red chili – 1
- Onion – 1/2 medium size
- Tomato – 1 small
- Ghee – 1 tablespoon(as needed)
- salt – 1 teaspoon (as needed)

- Jeera – 1 teaspoon
- Mustard – 1 teaspoon
- Urad dal – 1 teaspoon
- Curry leaves – 1 sprig
Preparation method
- Medium heat a pressure cooker.
- Wash and drain toor dal. Add enough water, turmeric powder and cook toor dal for 3 whistles.
- After pressure settled down. Mash the dal with a ladle.
- Heat a pan on medium and pour ghee into it add mustard, urad dal after it splutters add curry leaves, green chili and fry it for a minute.
- wash and add finely chopped garlic, onion. Once the onion is cooked add tomato and fry it for 2 minutes add chili powder, salt, and add
cooke and mashed toor dal with enough water as required. - Let it cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Serve it hot with white rice.
