Potato masala

Potato masala is a spicy version of curry made by using potato as a main ingredient. It is often served alongside of poori or masala dosa.

Ingredients

  1. Potato – 3 medium size
  2. Onion – 1 medium size
  3. Tomato – 1 medium size
  4. Green Chili – 2
  5. Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Chili powder – 1teaspoon
  7. Coriander leaves – 1sprig
  8. Salt – 1 teaspoon (as needed)

Sauté

  1. Mustard – 1 teaspoon
  2. Urad dal – 1 teaspoon
  3. Curryleaves – 1 sprig

Preparation method

  1. Wash the potatoes, peel the skin and cook it in a pressure cooker for up to 3 whistles and mash the potatoes keep it aside.
  2. In a pan heat, oil add mustard, urad dal, curry leaves, green chili, after it flutters add onion, tomato, cook it for 2 minutes. Then add cooked potatoes cook it for 2 minutes add turmeric powder, chili powder add salt and water as needed.
  3. Let it cook for 5 minutes
  4. At the end add coriander leaves to it.
