Soya beans are low in fat and high in protein. It can be served as a side dish for coconut milk rice, sambar rice and with any South Indian rice variety.

Ingredients
- Soya chunks – 100 grams
- Onion – 1 medium size
- Tomato – 1 medium size
- Oil – 2 tablespoon
- water – 1 and 1/2 cups
- Salt – 1 teaspoon (as needed)
Sauté
- Mustard – 1/2 teaspoon
- Urad dal – 1/2 teaspoon
- Curry leaves – 1sprig
Grinding (make it a fine paste in mixie add little water)
- Shredded coconut – 2 tablespoon
- Red Chili powder – 2 teaspoon
- Garam masala powder – 2 teaspoon
Preparation method
- Take 1 and 1/2 cups of water and boil it on medium heat. Completely immerse soya chunks in it. Cook for 4 minutes, drain the water and squeeze it to dry and keep aside.
- Pour oil in a pan. Saute it with mustard, urad dal, curry leaves, after it splutters add finely chopped onion. Once it’s cooked, add tomatoes. Let it cook for 2 minutes, then add soya chunks, and mix it well.
- Add ground coconut and spices along with salt.
- Cook it for 8-10 minutes.
