Soya Chunks Manchurian

Soya beans are low in fat and high in protein. It can be served as appetizer, and also a side dish sambar rice and with any South Indian rice variety.

Total Preparation Time: 45 Minutes

Ingredients 

  1. Soya chunks – 2 cups
  2. Water – 4 cups
  3. Corn flour – 3 tbsp
  4. Ginger paste – 1 tsp
  5. Garlic paste – 1 tsp
  6. Red chili powder – 2 tbsp
  7. salt – 2 tsp(as needed)
  8. oil for deep frying

Sauté for Manchurian sauce

  1. Finely chopped Onion – 1/2 big size
  2. Diced Capsicum – 1/4 cup
  3. Finely chopped Garlic – 4 cloves
  4. chili sauce – 3 tbsp
  5. soy sauce – 2 tbsp
  6. Tomato sauce -2 tbsp
  7. Salt – 1 tsp (as needed)
  8. coriander leaves – 1 sprig
  9. Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

Preparation method

  1. Take 4 cups of water in a pan and boil it on medium heat.
  2. Completely immerse soya chunks in it. Cook for 10 minutes and drain it in a vegetable strainer and squeeze the soya chunks and keep it in a bowl
  3. In a mixing bowl along with soya chunks add ginger paste, garlic paste, corn flour, chili powder and salt
  4. Add little water if needed and mix it well.
  5. Deep fry soya chunks in medium heated oil ,until it turns golden brown and crispy.
  6. In a large nonstick pan pour oil add garlic after it splutters add onion after it turns color, add capsicum cook it for 3 minutes .
  7. Then add chili sauce tomato sauce ,soy sauce, lemon juice and salt.
  8. Now add deep fried soya chunks and mix it well.
  9. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it hot.
